Located on a piece of Henry Ford II’s Southampton oceanfront estate, the property at 21 Fordune Drive in Water Mill offers not only a piece of history, but a stately house and deeded beach access.

An intricate stone-topped gated driveway leads to a 12,000-plus-square-foot French chateau-styled house situated on the 2.5 acres countryside estate, just listed with Corcoran’s Gary DePersia for $9.95 million. It is just a sliver of the 235-acre estate the head of Ford Motor Company began carving out in the late 1950s. Some 20 years later, his ex-wife, Anne McDonnell, sold the estate and it was divided into a gated enclave of 40 homes, known as Fordune.

At 21 Fordune Drive, built in 2000, a dramatic front door opens into a space designed by Sanchez & Coleman, the interior design firm founded by the famed fashion designer and architect Angel Sanchez and the interior designer Christopher Coleman, who implemented a mix of geometric shapes, clean lines, bold colors and warm undertones. Floor to ceiling windows overlook the manicured grounds.

The newly-designed, Euro-inspired kitchen features an eat-in kitchen by Bilotta of New York, a leader in custom kitchens. Ultra-modern cabinetry surround a hidden refrigerator and marble countertops, including on an oversized center island. Food and butler pantries should make entertaining a breeze.

With 10 bedrooms and 13 bathrooms, there will almost certainly always be room for guests. The first floor master wing means you may never even have to see your guests! It features a newly renovated spa-like bathroom, three — yes, three — walk-in closets and access to the terrace.

DePersia said the property is unique to the market. “21 Fordune Drive is a fantastic opportunity to own not only own a piece of the former Henry Ford II estate with deeded ocean access but to have a home that offers 10 bedrooms within 12,000 square feet on 2.5 beautifully landscaped acres with room for tennis,” he told Behind The Hedges. “Recently renovated and beautifully appointed, this home epitomizes the Hamptons experience close to all that makes Southampton a world class destination.”

Seven bedrooms each with dedicated ensuite bathrooms are upstairs, with two more rooms currently being utilized for his and her offices. An elevator also accesses the finished lower level, which boasts a  world-class game room, a 16-seat screening room with tiered seats for optimal viewing, a gym, full bath and a staff suite.

There’s plenty of outdoor  living space, too. A pathway of imported Turkish tiles lead to the 20-by-55 heated gunite pool and spa surrounded by trees. “A kaleidoscope of color is found within the specimen trees, flowering gardens and perimeter plantings ensuring privacy from the neighboring properties while allowing ample room for that coveted tennis court,” the listing reads. An audio system provides entertainment inside and out.

The home also features a four-car garage and comes with a generator big enough to supply the whole house, plus a security system with CCTV.
