Kim Cattrall, who famously played sexpot Samantha Jones in Sex and the City, is ending her love affair with her cottage in Springs. The property at 105 Gerard Drive is on the market for $3.25 million.
The bayfront 1,300-square-foot home with a large, detached studio is available for the first time in decades. While on the smaller side, the water view are expansive thanks to its location on a unique part of peninsula that stretches out into Gardiner’s Bay.
Cattrall purchased the two-bedroom shingled house back in 1998, just as she gained stardom. The house is situated on a generous four tenths of an acre lot, fenced and behind a gate, offering much-needed privacy.
An open living and dining area has a wall of windows facing the water from three different exposures towards Gardiner’s Island, Shelter Island and Montauk. The living room, which has a fireplace, can also be used as a screening room thanks to a 59-by-80-inch motorized screen that descends from a recess in the ceiling and a professional projector.
A second-story bedroom loft has a large walk-in closet (We just assume Cattrall must have a flair for fashion like Samantha). There is also a custom kitchen, hardwood flooring throughout and a two half baths. Laundry and mechanical are located in the basement.
The mahogany deck leads to the grassy lawn and waterside fire pit and hot tub. The property has been professionally landscaped with bluestone walkways from the main house to the studio, which provide another 318 square feet of space. It can be used year-round and has its own half-bath. An outdoor shower was recently redone.
Cattrall, who now stars in the Fox drama, Filthy Rich, lives in Vancouver Island in British Columbia. She told The New York Post, “I will miss my daily walks down Gerard Drive and that gorgeous ocean view sitting by the fire pit.”
