The East End is Long Island’s horse country. In addition to being the home of the Hampton Classic Horse Show—returning for its 20th annual event August 23-30 at its world-class showgrounds in Bridgehampton—private equestrian facilities and family estate stables abound here. Select Hamptons and North Fork properties, from large farms to single-family estates, are on the market now featuring either their own equestrian facilities or proximity to some of the best places to board beloved horses with professional caretakers and grooms.
Big E Farm
$25,000,000
6133 Sound Avenue, Jamesport
This magnificent 205-acre property belonging to the Entenmanns—the family that founded Long Island’s famous Entenmann’s baked goods—is one of the largest East End parcels on the market by far.“It’s truly fantastic,” says licensed associate real estate broker Sheri Winter Clarry of Corcoran Group Real Estate. “There’s really nothing like it, to be honest.” The grand estate farm was established when Robert Entenmann purchased a potato farm in 1980 and began to raise thoroughbred race horses there. In 1995 he planted 18 acres of grapes and over the next four years expanded the vineyards to more than 100 acres and founded Martha Clara Vineyards, named for his mother. In addition, Big E Farm includes multiple barns, stables and paddocks and three cottages. The main residence, a manor house, has a professional chef’s kitchen, a commercial baking room, a club room, five bedrooms including a master suite with his and hers bathroom and closet, four more full baths and a half bath, four fireplaces, a foyer/solarium, a porte-cochère, an elevator and a full basement with a therapy and fitness pool, sauna, spa room, exercise studio and wine cellar.
Three Ponds Farm

919 Scuttle Hole Road, Bridgehampton
Anchored by an eight-bedroom, 20,000-square-foot European-influenced Tuscan villa by architect Allan Greenberg, Three Ponds Farm is a 60-acre estate boasting a USGA-rated 18-hole golf course by renowned course designer Rees Jones and a “19th hole” clubhouse. With all that acreage, it’s easy to envision a family horse farm taking shape. Prized horses won’t have to travel far to prove they’re champions—the Hampton Classic showgrounds are just a stone’s throw away from Long Pond, one of the water bodies that give the estate its name. The villa has eight bedrooms, 10 full baths and three partial baths. The grounds feature a grass tennis court, pool, spa, pavilion, dock and gardens. Also among the amenities are two three-car garages and a three-bedroom caretaker’s house.

Two Trees Lane, Bridgehampton
Famously the site of Bridgehampton Polo for 20 years, the 115-acre Two Trees Farm will soon be home to 12 new homes, with five fronting Long Pond, dubbed Two Trees Estates. Developer David Walentas purchased the North-of-the-Highway property in the 1990s. Walentas subdivided the land in recent years and is planning to build a number of homes, including three by Fleetwood & McMullan, Architects and one by Eric Woodard Architect. Marders has been enlisted to create the landscapes, tying together the 12 unique homes, each with pool and tennis. The largest parcel will be 9.7 acres while the other 11 will range between 1.8 and 3 acres. Two Trees Farm remains on a 68-acre agricultural preserve and scenic easements are in place. “I don’t know of any other place in the Hamptons that is built around an equestrian facility that is new construction,” says Christopher J. Burnside, an associate broker with Brown Harris Stevens of the Hamptons, the exclusive representative of Two Trees Estates. “You can literally have your horse at Two Trees and ride up to your house for lunch.” Two Trees Farm itself is on the market for $25 million and includes a 2,500-square-foot farmhouse with pool and tennis court.
Polo Court

Polo Court, Bridgehampton
To the south of Two Trees Farm lies Polo Court, a five-lot development by Farrell Building Company. Founder Joe Farrell purchased the 2-acre properties from David Walentas this past winter and immediately went to work building luxury homes ranging from 6,500 to 7,000 square feet, each with eight bedrooms and each including a 50’ heated gunite pool, pool house spa and sunken tennis court. Polo Court Lot 1 has already sold for $7.7 million. Remaining lots are listed between $9 million and $10 million, though one has entered into contract.
North Fork Gem
$5,800,000
Jamesport
A two-family house anchors this expansive 208-acre farm. The land has been preserved for agricultural uses. With frontage on Sound Avenue, it is an ideal location for a horse farm and there would still be room left over for a vineyard, winery and tasting room. The farm is in two lots, which could be sold separately. One is 145 acres and the other is 63 acres, each with its own irrigation system and its own Morton Building. “These barns would be easily converted into stables,” Valerie Goode, the owner of Colony Realty says.
