We can’t find vintage pictures of this house by local starchitect Norman Jaffe, so we’re not sure if it was originally this light and airy. We suspect that in a recent (2016) renovation a lot of white paint was employed. In any case, the house looks great. It retains signature Jaffe touches such as a massive stone fireplace and stone floors, plenty of wood, and rooms formed as intersecting planes of walls and ceilings, but it’s light and bright as today’s style demands.
The property, listed by Bill Williams and RC Atlee at Compass, consists of the 5100 square foot house, with five bedrooms and 5.5 baths, and the 1.35 acre plot of land. There’s a pool, although it’s not pictured in the listing. Wrong time of year, we guess. There’s also “tiered stone waterworks.”
What do you think of the place and the price? If someone is looking for an easy to move into home in an A location, this would be a good buy.
