Fashion designer Tony Melillo, the founder of the eponymous lifestyle collection of luxurious sportswear for men, women and children, ATM Anthony Thomas Melillo, designed a sleek modern beach house in Amagansett for himself. New to the market, the home at 31 Gilberts Path is listed for $5.75 million with Sara Goldfarb and Tal Alexander of The Alexander Team at Douglas Elliman Real Estate.

“The owners were meticulous about every inch of the home and it shows,” says Goldfarb. “There’s no shortage of custom moments and luxe design details throughout the space.”

From the moment you step on the property, you cannot help but be taken by the design, starting with the terrazzo stone in front to the Blackwood Shou Sugi cedar wood and exterior siding, charred using a special Japanese technique and imported from Blackwood Siding in Canada, the listing agents say.

The 1,800-square-foot house underwent a custom renovation in 2020. Located just one block from the Napeague ocean beach on a private 0.68-acre parcel, the home allows for seamless indoor-outdoor living and entertaining.

“The backdrop of the dunes is the focus of the home,” Goldfarb explains. “The minimalist design merges effortlessly with its surroundings, and the sound of the ocean compliments it perfectly with the sliding glass walls open.”

The open-concept main living space features walls of glass that allow natural light to pour in and provide an unobstructed scenic view. The floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors open to a spacious deck, where there is also a Paloform fire pit.

The living and dining area also boasts an accent wall and plank flooring created of Dineson Douglas fir from Denmark. The VIPP kitchen from Denmark includes a large island with seating, a custom VIPP stovetop and other top-of-the-line appliances such as a Miele.

Down the hall are three bedrooms. The primary suite features a private deck surrounded by lush landscaping and a JEE-Os Soho 01 freestanding outdoor shower that offers a pressure balance valve.

The two other bedrooms are light-filled and have custom closets with sliding glass doors that lead to decks. Luxurious features continue in the two spa bathrooms, where there are high-end minimalist fixtures by Woodmelbourn Australia.

We’re told, Melillo’s ATM collection is the “embodiment of relaxed elegance.” Just like his Amagansett home, and perhaps yours next?
