Harvey Weinstein Drops the Price of Amagansett Home to $12.4 Million

This house, at 50 Broadview Road in Amagansett, ought to be pretty familiar by now to people who pay attention to Hamptons real estate. Formerly belonging to Barry Sonnenfeld, the property was available for $19.95 million back in July 2013, which made it the priciest on the market in Amagansett at the time. The ask steadily dropped until 2014, when producer Weinstein and designer wife Georgina Chapman purchased the property for $11.65 million. Rich folks are so fickle, though: Weinstein put the property back on the market last year for $13.5 million, then reduced it to $12.8 million.

Now the property has a new agency and new agents (Frank Newbold and Beate Moore of Sotheby’s International Realty) and a new price, $12.4 million. (Note, though, that since the Sotheby’s listing isn’t live yet, these photos are from the previous Corcoran listing, where the agent was Tim Davis.)

The property is extremely nice: with five bedrooms and 6.5 baths, the house is located right on Gardiners Bay with 260 feet of sandy beach on about 1.93 acres. It has tons of other nice features, too: five fireplaces, a rooftop deck, terraces on the second floor, a two-bedroom staff apartment, and the obligatory gunite pool.

Will the new price be low enough to do the trick? You tell us.
