It’s not every day, that we come across a home with an indoor pool and a private beach on the North Fork — and this Riverhead house offers both, plus a  house that exudes craftsmanship and comfort with a view of the Long Island Sound.

While we hear there are already contracts pending, the residence at 311 Sandpiper Lane remains on the market with Kate DiGregorio and Ryan Springer of the Corcoran Group at $2.29 million.

The 3,800-square-foot post-and-beam house, originally built in 2003, provides much room for relaxation and entertainment. The open-concept design on the first level includes an oversized living room with a water view and double-height ceilings, a light-filled dining area set up against windows and underneath skylights, a large eat-in kitchen and a den. A double-sided stone fireplace splits the living room and den spaces, while also warming the adjacent kitchen.

Exposed beams, wood details and hardwood floors abound.

The primary suite can also be found on the first floor, offering dual closets, a dressing area and a large bathroom with a generously sized walk-in glass shower, a standalone vintage tub and a modern elongated sink with two faucets set on an antique-looking vanity.

There are two sets of stairs to get to the second level, one through the den and another in the foyer.

Two guest bedrooms share a bathroom. A loft office is situated in a space open to the living room below. There is also a loft bed for additional sleeping.

Down on the lower level, there is plenty more space for a gym, recreational room, laundry, a half-bathroom, a wine cellar and more.

The heated indoor pool is just off the foyer on the first level in a room with cedar walls and exposed wood beams. Skylights and several windows on all four sides allow for natural light to pour through. A full bathroom can be found near the foyer.

There is direct access to the outdoor patio, which runs along the back of the house. The 60-by-33-foot patio is surrounded by professionally landscaped grounds. Steps lead down to the private beach on the Sound.

Set on 2.75 acres, there is also a separate two-car garage that offers bonus studio space above. Plus, there’s plenty of room to create an estate of your own.
