Back in 1971, pop artist Andy Warhol purchased a less than grand 5.7 acre estate, once owned by the Church family, who famously made their fortune from Arm & Hammer baking soda products, for $225,000. He filled the home with his rock star friends Mick Jagger and Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones as well as luminaries like Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and Elizabeth Taylor. In 2007, Mickey Drexler, CEO of J. Crew, purchased the property for $27M and began extensive renovations under the watchful eye of architect Thierry Despont.
