For the first time in three generations, a rare expanse of Hamptons land, totaling more than 40 acres, is being offered for sale in Water Mill.

The word “ditto” has perhaps never been uttered so many times as it was during a hearing on the preservation of Bridgehampton farmland. 

A nearly 72-acre farm in Aquebogue will soon change hands as the Riverhead Charter School, already a neighbor, will ink a deal in mid-2024.

During a special Southampton Town Board meeting last week, councilmembers discussed acquiring a large tract of Bridgehampton farmland.

Russell Hearn, who has been the head winemaker at Lieb Cellars for more than 30 years, is now the owner of the North Fork vineyard.
