A unique complex that includes the tallest building in East Hampton Village, housing the popular Mary’s Marvelous cafe, has changed hands in the latest in what has been a busy commercial market.

A contemporary East Hampton home near Clearwater Beach in Springs, listed for $2.995 million with Rylan Jacka of Sotheby’s International Realty, was designed to maximize the water views and natural light. 

Embattled education entrepreneur Chris Whittle may soon lose his expansive waterfront compound on East Hampton’s Georgica Pond, which he has been trying to unload for seven years.

On Saturday, there is a chance to view a private waterfront home in East Hampton’s Grace Estates, listed for $8.5 million with Michael Daly and Matthew Spratford of Douglas Elliman.

A new listing in East Hampton Village’s estate section offers two separate, but contiguous lots that offer the opportunity for a compound close to the ocean beaches and village center.

Billionaire investor James Chanos, sold his Further Lane property for $59.5 million last month, while the estate of the Life Savers heiress sold for $60 million last week, in what will likely be one of the top sales of 2021.

So far, the average number of sold listings per week for 2021 has been about 24 properties. But don’t let that fool you. Demand is just as high as it was a few months ago.
